WELCOME TO PUPPY BRADBURY!

Great Bay Farm has a new addition to it's Jack Russell "Pack". Barn mascot, Raspberry (owned by Susan Bourassa) and Holly (owned by Debbie Hastings) has been joined by a new, 9-week old, black and tan JRT puppy named BRADBURY! He is absolutely adorable (picture coming soon) and has already attended his first event ... but this is no surprise, since he comes from a long line of  "Jack Russell Eventer Terriers"! (Thanks Karen!)

Highlights from 2007

We had a very busy season in 2007, attending events up and down the East Coast. All horses and riders had an awesome year—placing in most events. And all horses moved up at least one level by August 2007.

Emily at SnowfieldsEMILY'S SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: Emily came to Great Bay Farm at the start of the 2007 season after moving from Katy, Texas. Susan Bourassa found her a suitable lease with Murphy (Smart Dreamer) and the pair progressed quickly and easily into Training. She loves telling friends that her 19 year old "pony" goes too fast - not a problem now that they are in Training! At the Maine Combined Training Association's year-end awards in November, she was recognized as one of the top scoring Jr. Training riders of MeCTA. Goal for 2008: Qualify for the AECs at the Training Level with her new horse, Bully for Billy.

SUSAN'S SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:  First place ribbons were only part of the story for rider/trainer Susan Bourassa in 2007.  The season started with a win at UNH Spring Horse Trials and a reunion with an old friend (F. Bruce Miller) at Plantation Field Horse Trials. Many road trips later (and many bags of home-made trail mix by Emily's show mom, Debbie Hastings), there were too many successes to count!

Of course, there was that one breakdown on the Maine Turnpike on the way to King Oak Horse Trials in September! Many thanks to a fellow eventer and good friend, Jean Detert of Brunswick, Maine, for coming to our rescue.

Susan ended the season in style with a road trip to Morven Park CCI* - where Billy successfully completed his first CCI* (one star) event! They are pictured below, enjoying the moment with other friends who came to help out!.
